Born in Rutland, Vermont in eighteen four, John Deere, a well known and trusted blacksmith. Because of his ingenuity and workmanship his name was becoming known around Vermont. Seeing the downfall of the economy in the mid eighteen thirty’s Mr. Deere had to leave Vermont and seek work elsewhere.  Leaving his wife and children, which later followed him he landed in Illinois. But he was also hearing complaints from the farmers about their cast iron blows were always bogging down in the mud. Mr. Deere made a plow out of a broken saw blade in eighteen thirty seven. It seemed to work well and he began selling them to the farmers. He made other equipment through the years and the rest is history as they say.

In nineteen sixty three the John Deere lawn mowers were hitting the market. One model that so many people have used through the years is the LT190. It has survived many years and the model seems not to change, and the green and yellow colors are still there. It can cut a path of about forty four inches and can hold about two gallons of fuel.
